Enable Document Id Feature in SharePoint 2010.

Today I am trying to enable Document Id feature in SharePoint 2010 but for that I need to search lot of SharePoint Article and finally I am able to enable that feature, so I thought to create one simple document which will help peoples to configure this feature in simple steps. Below are the steps to configure Document ID feature in SharePoint 2010.

Step 1 .   Enable Document ID feature for your Site Collection.
Select Site settings >>  Site Collection Administration >> Document ID settings


You need to give the 4 to 12 digit no, so that document ID will prefix that number. Click on OK
Now your site collection setting is done for Document ID.

Step 2 : Go to Central Administration and select Monitoring option.



You have to Run this two job explicitly.

Step 3: Restart IIS.

After completion of this steps your Document ID feature is enable for that site collection.

Note : For assigning ddocuments which are already uploaded in Document Library you need to perform the operation like check out and check in.
